It seems that “Yonsama” Bae Yong Joon won’t be back to Kirin Art School.

He took the role of the chairman of the board of Kirin Art School, Jeong Ha Myung, in KBS 2’s Mon-Tue drama “Dream High” and appeared until the 4th episode. He was expected to reappear in the later part of drama, but his comeback fell through. He was hospitalized for two weeks last month because of recurring issues with a ruptured cervical disc, which he got during the filming of “TWSSG” in 2007. He is still receiving treatment as an out-patient.

Bae Yong Joon participated in the production of the drama for the first time. He is devotedly attached to the drama, making appearances and filming even with all of the pain. He regrets more than anyone else because he can’t help and be a part of them any more.

He didn’t appear in the drama after 4th episode, and the viewers continuously have requested for his re-appearance. There were especially many requests from his Japanese fans because it was the first time he had appeared in a modern drama since the movie "April Snow," six years ago.

Someone related to Bae Yong Joon’s agency stated, “There were many possibilities for him to appear in the drama because the role and appearing time weren’t stated in the contract. But he needs to rest unconditionally. He, including the production team, has a lot of regret. With the four episodes, the story about Jeong Ha Myung has been taken care of and there aren’t any problems in the script.”

[News] Bae Yong-joon’s Injury Scuppers Plans for ‘Dream High’

Star actor Bae Yong-joon, resting at home with a herniated cervical disc after discharge from hospital, is unlikely to return to KBS 2TV drama “Dream High.”

After making a special appearance on the show, his neck got worse and he was hospitalized for 17 days from Jan. 4. Bae sustained the injury when he fell from a horse while shooting “Taewangsasingi (The Four Guardian Gods of the King)” in 2007. It was exacerbated by the tight shooting schedule of “Dream High” and extremely cold weather.

Management agency KeyEast said, “Although Bae is getting better, he still needs to be cautious.”

Bae appeared in the first four episodes of “Dream High,” which proved so popular that more appearances were considered. The agency is being noncommittal, saying nothing has been decided. Bae plans to move from Samseong-dong to a new house worth W6 billion (US$1=W1,123) in Seongbuk-dong this spring.

[News]"Dream High" is a great success even as an export overseas. Passed "Chuno."

Sold at a record-high price in Japan.

KBS 2TV's Mon-Tues Mini Series, "Dream High," was exported to Japan with a higher price than "Chuno." On the 10th, overseas marketing manager of KBS Media, Lee Hyo Young (responsible for the exporting "Dream High") said, "Broadcasting rights of 'Dream High' have been sold to Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, and Cambodia including Japan."

Manager Lee stated, "Its export price for Japan was higher than that of "Chuno," which gained popularity last year. Its merchantable quality increased because the viewers can enjoy K-Pop along with the drama at the same time." Even without Hallyu stars, it seems that there is a large amount of interest in Ok Taecyeon and Bae Suzy of 2PM and Miss A.

Looking at the process of exporting "Dream High," the power of K-Pop can be confirmed, and Ok Taecyeon and Bae Suzy's potentials of becoming Hallyu stars can be recognized. It also has been known that the export of "Dream High" to Thailand, Philippine, and Malaysia is in the final stages of the deals.
