“I want to become a Hallyu star. Yonsama hyeong-nim (Bae Yong Joon), a Hallyu star, is the head of my agency and the representative of other Hallyu stars. He encourages me a lot. Recently, after watching the drama, he sent me a text message saying, “I put you in my supervision list.”, and I felt tense; It was a good feeling.

I have been studying Japanese since my high school days and I’ll disclose my hidden Japanese skills as much as I can when I become a Hallyu star. (Laugh)”

Today, I enjoyed brunch with Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young. (I think it's okay to say that I enjoyed brunch with them because I was in the same space with them.) 

I wanted to keep staring at Yonsama, but I didn't catch a glimpse of him because I'm a cool chadonyeo [suehan: It's an internet-based word in Korea; it means a cold woman living in the city].

(Now I'm regretting it.)

Bae Yong Joon’s house has a different look to it compared to other houses nearby. It is not just the house itself that is painted white, but even the high walls are white as well and the fence is painted green. You could even hear the murmur of all of the construction workers while they were working on the interior of the house. 

At 30 million won per pyung, it is quite an expensive home for being in the Seongbuk-Dong area for the current market price of 6 billion won. The move-in date is scheduled to be earlier this year, but the exact date has yet to be decided.


The real estate agent met around the neighborhood said, "Bae Yong Joon’s mother, who came as his representative, to made the contract. But it is in Bae Yong Joon’s name. In a month they took care of the entire balance. No one knows if there is anyone living with him in in the home."

[News]Bae Yong Joon’s restaurant in Japan will be temporary closed beginning in March. “The rumor of the management crisis is groundless.”

Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon said that it was groundless rumor regarding the rumor of the management crisis of the high-class Korean restaurant, “Gosireh” which Bae Yong Joon opened at Minatogu Shirogane in Tokyo, Japan in August of 2006.

In the afternoon of February 1st, CEO Yang Geun Hwan of Keyeast, Bae Yong Joon’s agency, had a telephone conversation with this company and explained, “We decided to close it temporarily to improve the old equipment of the restaurant. Reports saying we closed it because of a management crisis are false.”

CEO Yang also said, “The lease contract will end in March of this year. We’re still considering whether we should move to a better commercial zone or stay here. It seems like we need to finish the contract first and then think about remodeling and repairing the facilities.”

On the rumor regarding employees being laid-off, he said, “As far as I know, because we can’t continue business for a while, we are giving lay-off notices to some employees including part-time workers. We are finding agreements with both sides regarding the matter.

CEO Yang emphasized that “Except the main store, the 2nd and 3rd store are doing well and we plan to decide about the lease of the main store and start construction to open the store once again.”

Before, a monthly magazine reported that “It seems like the reason for the closing of “Gosireh” coming in February is because of management deterioration.”

Until recently, Bae Yong Joon was hospitalized due to a ruptured cervical disc, but he is resting now while receiving physical treatment as an out-patient.

Lots of strength, lots of responsibility. It is the life of a man to carry those two qualities. 

Kim Jae Yeop: The owner of the acting institute where Bae Yong Joon used to attend. According to him, Bae Yong Joon was very sincere and constantly prepared to become an actor. When Bae Yong Joon was a teenager, he decided to become an actor to quickly make money during his family’s financial troubles. He had a reserved personality and enjoyed assembling and disassembling toys alone rather than playing with his friends. But, he started to play with his friends and sports while learning Hapkido when he was in junior high and high school. The elders around him worried about him changing, but they thought that “It isn’t best to follow the path that is recommended to him by their experiences.” Bae Yong Joon jumped at an acting job after he graduated high school.

Kwon O Joong: An actor who went to the acting institute with Bae Yong Joon. He was part of the staff at the filming location of the movie, “The Girl for Love and The One for Marriage”. After he appeared as an extra in “Pilgu”, he was recognized and received free acting lessons at the acting institute. He met Kwon O Joong at that time. He learned Kungfu from Kwon O Joong and débuted in KBS’s “Salute D’Amour” At that time, Bae Yong Joon decided to make “Be like a convenient store” as his personal motto. Because, after experiencing situations at many filming locations, he wanted to be an actor who could present anything that the directors wanted.”
