Bae Yong Joon’s travel essay, ‘The Journey to Discover the Beauty of Korea’ which has settled down as a stable seller in Korean and Japanese, will also be published in Taiwanese. The Chinese and English versions will come out soon.

On the 7th, Bae Yong Joon’s agent, Keyeast, said that the Taiwanese version would be published upon the worldwide continuous requests. The Taiwanese version is the second edition in foreign languages subsequent to the Japanese version. The Taiwanese version will be published after a year worth of faithful translations to the original edition in Korean.

SBOOKER publishing company, which publishes the Taiwanese version, said, “There were continuous requests from the average readers, not only from his fans.”, and “We expect a good response from an extensive age group as a guide book that will introduce the Korean culture, different from other books written by the stars.”

‘The Journey to Discover the Beauty of Korea’ is expected to be published in Chinese and English after it’s publication in Taiwanese. The book will carry out the role of a missionary of the worldwide Korean culture.

The Korean version was published in September, 2009, and propelled in sales. The publishing company needed to reprint 13 times within one month, and it became a bestseller. Bae Yong Joon received a favorable review as an author; he wrote a book with his honest thoughts and appreciation after he traveled all throughout Korea. The Japanese version, which was published at the same time, also became a best seller right after its publication. It received a favorable review and reached high sales as a travel essay, not as a Hallyu starr’s photo book.

We had moved from Cheongdam-dong office which we had stayed for 4 years.
Um, it is going to be a bit far from my home…

Preparing for relocation starts from cleaning up!

As I started packing for relocation, I felt I have useless things (=garbage) more than my necessary stuff.

We should consider more about environment otherwise this earth will be filled with garbage.
I shall try my best not to get any trash in the new office!

So, I have decided not to own my trash box in our new office.
I may lessen trash if I have no place to throw it away…

The best part I like about this new office is that we get a good view of the Jamsil Stadium.

‘Dream High’ will start the shooting at the end of October and will be broadcasted from January 3rd next year. It consists of 16 episodes. 

With the art school background, it will describe the growing process of four talented students. It is a youth drama that two males and two female students lead. These four students will challenge each other for love and friendship, one of them will become a winner of 2017 Grammy Awards, which is best music award, and he/she will stand as the best entertainer worldwide. 

The name of the main cast who stands up as a worldwide star is ‘Kay (Key?)’. But this ‘Kay’ among these four students will not be disclosed until the middle of the drama, and will be disclosed in the last episode, 16th episode.

Actor Bae Yong Joon won the invasion of privacy and infringement of copyright lawsuit partially.

On the 3rd, Division 12 of the Seoul Central Court Civil Division (Judge, Park Hee Seung) ruled in partial favor of Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon and his agent, Keyeast who filed a lawsuit against the S advertisement company. The court ordered the defendant to pay thirty million won and prohibited them to use his images on the internet.

Last December, Bae Yong Joon and his agent, Keyeast filed a lawsuit against the S company for the invasion of publicity right and claimed one hundred million won for its damages. In the lawsuit, they complained that defendants were using his images, name, and his nickname, ‘Yonsama’.

The S company filed a cross-complaint against the plaintiffs asking for one hundred million won. They complained that ‘We didn’t violate BYJ’s property right because we only used ‘Yonsama’ without his pictures and his name,

MBC drama Playful Kiss had a rocky start, receiving only a 3.5% viewer rating for the first episode. However, Playful Kiss is excelling in other areas.

Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang, signed MOU to support the production of the Hallyu drama ‘Dream High’ in which BYJ and PJY will be appearing.

First step to become a Hallyu cultural city, Goyang.

On September 2, 2010, Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang signed MOU with Kim Pil Ryo (chairman of Goyang city council), Jeong Wook and Yang Geun Ywan (CEOs of the Hollim, the production company of the drama ‘Dream High’), and Lee Gwan Hoon (CEO of CJ Media) to vitalize the imagery tourism of Goyang at the video conference room in the City Hall. It is the first step for the Hallyu cultural city of Goyang.

The major contents of the MOU are to attract tourists through the imagery tourism, employment creation including making appearances in minor roles, attracting the industry relating the unification of broadcasting, video, and communication, improving the value of the city, and cooperation to vitalize the local economics. International Hallyu stars including Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young will be appearing in ‘Dream High’.

To achieve the goal of the imagery tourism, the city of Goyang and production company decided to cooperate for the introduction of the city of Goyang through various methods like operating the Familiarization Tour of the potential areas for the tourist attraction including the lakeside park, Lafesta, Western Dome Street, Latin America Cultural Center, and the Haeju Fortress and using the discovered areas for the shootings sites when the broadcasting of the drama starts.

The protagonist of MBC’s Playful Kiss has scored a contract that has the web buzzing in Korea.

Kim Hyun Joong’s agency, Keyeast, revealed on the 2nd, “Kim Hyun Joong has been chosen by cosmetic brand The Face Shop as the domestic and international model“.

The contract guarantees Kim Hyun Joong 1.75 billion won (1.48 million dollars).

Woo Young of 2PM will challenge acting

Woo Young was casted in the KBS 2TV drama ‘Dream High’ which was confirmed to broadcast January next year. Someone related to the drama said, “Woo Young was nominated for the supporting role, and he will most likely join the drama because he had a meeting with the production team. He plans the preparation of drama in earnest after the encore concert.”

He’s going to appear as an art school student who dreams to become a star in this drama. It looks like he will have almost same influence as the main role. He challenges acting as the second member of the team after Taek Yeon who performed a noticeable acting in the KBS 2TV drama, ‘Cinderella Sister’ which ended in June.

‘Dream High’ will portray the dream and love of the youths dreaming to become stars in the art school. Bae Yong Joon, who didn’t make any appearances in the TV after MBC drama, TWSSG in 2007, will also appear as an actor, not only as a planner or producer in the drama. Park Jin Young will handle the vocal and dance training of the actors including writing the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of the music which will be used in the drama. Now, Woo Young of 2PM will join the drama, and it will stir more interest.
